Sewn pleats running along the seat are what define the Plisada on a New Crypton (2011 to 2016). They raise a soft relief across the 1.2 mm (0.05 in) gripper fabric and spread the hold evenly over the whole surface, without the pronounced ribs you would feel under you on a long ride. It is the choice for changing the look of the seat without going full motocross. The polyester base keeps water out, the perimeter is double stitched, and the pattern is taken from the stock New Crypton 11/16 seat so it lies flat with no wrinkles.
