Getting on the gas and finding a solid brace point is what the transverse ribs do on the RMZ 250/450 (2014 to 2016). They are sewn onto 1.2 mm (0.05 in) gripper fabric, non-slip and waterproof, over a polyester base that blocks water, with double stitching all around to survive mud and pressure washing.
