The 1.2 mm (0.05 in) gripper fabric has high-frequency embossing over the full surface, which holds you better than smooth fabric when the road gets loose, with no rubber or raised panels you would feel after hours in the saddle. The polyester base is waterproof and the double perimeter stitching stands up to sun, rain and washing with water and mild soap.
