The rubber panels sewn onto both sides sit where the boots rub: they protect the cover from wear and give you real leg support to squeeze the bike on climbs and in mud. The rest of the surface is 1.2 mm (0.05 in) high-frequency embossed gripper fabric, with a polyester base that keeps water out and double perimeter stitching. It is patterned on the original XR 400 seat, so it fits without wrinkles.
