Texture is what separates the HF from smooth fabric, and on the XR 190 L that texture turns into grip: high-frequency embossing covers the full surface of the 1.2 mm (0.05 in) gripper material and holds you better without adding sewn ridges or rubber panels. The seat stays flat, but you stop sliding around on it. It is non-slip and waterproof, with a polyester base that water will not pass through, and it is double stitched around the perimeter so it stands up to riding and washing.
