Two rubber side panels change how long a cover lasts: they shield the fabric where boots rub and give you a firm edge to grip with your knees. That is the Ultra Grip for the KLR 250 (1991-2005), built on a 1.2 mm (0.05 in) high-frequency embossed gripper base, waterproof, over a polyester backing that blocks water, double stitched around the perimeter. For a dual-sport that splits time between pavement and dirt, it is the toughest choice. Patterned on the stock KLR seat, CNC cut and hand sewn.
